Children's Ministry Donations Needed!
Each week, our children earn a ticket for reciting their memory verse. Once a month, the Memory Verse Store opens, and they get to "shop" for something they enjoy using their tickets! We would love to add more fun toys and games to bless our kids and make this special time even more exciting. Suggested donation items should be between $1-$10. Please avoid character items from show or movies. A collection box will be located in the foyer for your donations. Thank you so much for helping encourage our children to hide God's Word in their hearts!
Called to Counsel Conference
On Thursday, Oct. 23, from 9-3:30, NLBC will be hosting this year's Small Town Summits Massachusetts conference. In partnership with CCEF New England, the theme is "Called to Counsel," encouraging and equipping everyone in the church to grow in offering wise counsel to one another. This conference is open to all, and you are highly encouraged to register and attend. There will also be opportunities to volunteer to help with the conference so stay tuned for more details. An update from Christine Sears received 9/25:
Dear Friends,
Warmest greetings from the big city. The summer and most of September have gone by so fast. As I mentioned in my last letter I traveled quite a bit. My time at the Line Dance weekend with my girlfriend Lydia and her husband went well. We had a nice apt. for three and have booked at the same place for next year.
In August I was down south with my other Line Dance girlfriend, Hildegard. In spite of the rainy weather, we had a good time together with our host and hostess. Hildegard was so impressed with the fact that my Christian friends would also open their home to her. I was able to pass on a Bible with various info notes in it to her. She told me that she has a Bible but not with any explanations. She also mentioned that she would like to at least share some things about the Bible to her two grandchildren. She feels that they should at least have some information. I will be getting a Children's Bible for her to use. It will also be educational for her as her Bible knowledge is limited. I am very thankful for this opportunity.
The end of October my church will once again hold a three day Lego Days during the fall school break. Last year a number of unsaved kids also attended. Tons of Legos are available for the kids to use to build whatever they want. They can build alone or several together. Before the building begins a song or two is sung and a short devotional with a Bible Verse is given each morning. Pictures are taken at the end and the parents are invited to see the various creations. Then we helpers take everything apart and back into the various boxes for use at the next place. I want to ask Hildegard about her grandkids possibly taking part. They do not live in the area but she often has them over for a visit during school breaks.
Our building permits have not all come through as of yet. Recently my church had a get together on our property. Beforehand several men marked the ground where the actual building is to one day stand. The confidence is there that all the permissions will come through in His timing.
Many thanks for all of your prayer support.
Thankful for His faithfulness day by day.
Christine
