A Rich Gospel History
In the Summer of 2017 we celebrated the 250th anniversary of our church.
In July of 1767 thirteen men and women signed a covenant which brought the Baptist Church of Montague into being. This took place nine years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence! It is difficult for us to imagine what much of life would have been like for these thirteen men and women - however, we do have much in common with them. After a quick reading of the Covenant of the Baptist Church in Leverett and Montague, it is evident that our church started out with a group of people who were committed to God, the truth of His word, and to one another. They were striving to obey His word in faith and actions, watch over each other, and be a visible light as the local expression of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Many things have changed since 1767, but our God has not. He has sustained this body of believers for the past two and a half centuries, bringing the church through difficult times and blessing us immensely when we have obeyed Him and sought to make His Son the center of our lives. May He continue to sustain us until that glorious day when we see Jesus face to face!
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations! - Deuteronomy 7:9

Expanding the kingdom...
NLBC is working to expand the kingdom of God through local outreach, supporting various ministries, and global outreach. We currently support local partners around the country and global partners around the world in order to spread the kingdom of God to the lost and unreached locally and abroad.
Where we are headed...
We are focused on growing together, and growing as a light to the world for Christ. Together we are growing in knowledge and sanctification by learning and serving one another. Whether you are unsure of your faith or a lifelong Christian, we are happy to have you as a part of our family. Come grow with us, and grow into Christ likeness.
